What is menopause?

Menopause is not a disease, a medical condition or an illness!

It’s just the permanent ending of menstruation that marks the end of your ability to become pregnant.

Menopause usually begins between the ages of 40 and 50 and is characterized by some hormonal changes which cause most women some rather unnerving symptoms. The whole phase of menopause basically prepares you for that time when you stop ovulating and during this time, your estrogen decreases and your progesterone is produced in minimal quantities – causing the typical symptoms.

And finally, some statistics.  The average menopause age of US is 51 years. About 12 percent of women in the westerns world do not experience symptoms of menopause. On the other hand about 14 percent experience intense physical or emotional problems.
